The Cleaning/Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the cleaning/stewarding team to ensure a clean, hygienic, and well-maintained environment. This role includes supervising staff, managing schedules, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the cleaning/stewarding staff.
- Train, schedule, and monitor team members to ensure high-quality cleaning and sanitation.
- Conduct daily inspections of assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are met.
- Monitor and ensure the correct use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Maintain inventory and ensure timely ordering and restocking of cleaning supplies and tools.
- Address and resolve any complaints or issues from staff or other departments.
- Ensure all health, safety, and sanitation regulations are followed.
- Prepare shift reports and submit regular updates to the department head.
- Assist in recruiting and onboarding of new staff when necessary.
- Monitor staff attendance and maintain discipline and performance standards.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in hospitality or facility management is a plus.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a cleaning/stewarding role, with at least 1 year in a supervisory position.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Good leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic computer skills for reporting and inventory management.
