We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented General Ledger (GL) Accountant to oversee the integrity of our financial records. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in managing general ledger functions within the HoReCa or F&B industry, with the ability to analyze financial data and ensure accuracy in reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments as part of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts, prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, and intercompany accounts.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded in compliance with local accounting standards and tax regulations (e.g., VAT/GST).
- Collaborate with AR, AP, and inventory teams to ensure correct account postings.
- Support financial audits by providing documentation and responding to auditor queries.
- Assist in preparing financial statements, management reports, and budget variance analyses.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify errors or discrepancies.
- Improve and implement financial controls and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance reporting accuracy.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger.
- Experience in the F&B or HoReCa sector is highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or restaurant ERP systems).
- Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, reconciliations).
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Experience with multi-entity or multi-outlet accounting structures.
- Knowledge of inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and fixed asset accounting in F&B.
- Familiarity with IFRS or local GAAP (depending on region).
- Bilingual (English + local language) is a plus.
