Linux Operator

ECCO Gulf Majorel Qatar is seeking a skilled and experienced Linux Operator to join dynamic IT team in Qatar. As a Linux Operator, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our Linux-based systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless operation of our IT infrastructure, supporting various business functions.

• Administer and maintain Linux operating systems to ensure optimal availability and performance.
• Provide support for Linux environments as well as Oracle Cloud infrastructure.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and security configurations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues promptly.
• Implement and enforce security policies and system controls in collaboration with the information security consultant.
• Oversee the Main Data Center operations, ensuring compliance with system protection principles and controls.
• Manage and supervise backup operations, ensuring successful and reliable data backups.
• Administer servers and storage units, maintaining the integrity and health of the infrastructure.
• Participate in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers and centralized storage systems.
• Develop operational plans, prepare periodic reports, and provide recommendations to improve system performance and security.

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in Linux systems. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Min of 4 years Proven experience as a Linux Operator or similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
• Familiarity with system monitoring tools and automation frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
