The storekeeper is responsible for managing inventory, ensuring proper storage, and maintaining accurate stock records for materials used in box manufacturing, blacksmithing, and woodwork. This role requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail to support production efficiency.
### *Key Responsibilities:*
- *Receiving Materials:* Inspect and verify incoming raw materials (metal, wood, packaging supplies) against purchase orders.
- *Inventory Management:* Maintain accurate stock records, track usage, and ensure optimal inventory levels.
- *Storage & Organization:* Arrange materials systematically for easy access, ensuring safety and proper handling.
- *Issuing Supplies:* Distribute materials to production teams as per requirements, maintaining documentation for each transaction.
- *Stock Audits:* Conduct regular inventory checks to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- *Coordination:* Work closely with procurement and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
- *Safety Compliance:* Ensure adherence to safety protocols, especially when handling heavy or hazardous materials.
### *Qualifications & Skills:*
- Previous experience in storekeeping, preferably in a manufacturing or workshop setting.
- Knowledge of inventory management systems.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to lift and handle materials safely.
- Basic computer skills for stock tracking and reporting.
