We’re looking for a skilled Performance Test Engineer to join our team on a short-term contract.

Role: Performance Test Engineer

Contract Duration: 1 to 3 months

Location: Onsite in Qatar

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated Performance Test Engineer with a strong background in designing, executing, and analyzing performance tests across complex application ecosystems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with open-source and/or licensed performance testing tools, good understanding of end-to-end architectures (web, app, DB, MQ), and be capable of working independently in both onshore and offshore project models.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) including SLAs, workload profiles, and concurrency needs.
• Design and execute performance tests (Load, Stress, Volume, Endurance) based on finalized user flows and workload models.
• Develop and maintain performance test scripts using tools like Apache JMeter, LoadRunner, or IBM RPT.
• Conduct test cycles across multiple environments (Performance/UAT), validate results, and support defect analysis.
• Work with client stakeholders to gather technical architecture, integration touchpoints, and user behavior patterns.
• Ensure environment readiness, including controller and load generator configuration, port accessibility, and firewall setups.
• Coordinate with application teams for static data setup, credential provisioning, and disabling of OTP/Captcha during scripting.
• Extract and analyze system metrics/logs (App Server Logs, AWR/ADDM Reports, JVM Stats, etc.) post-test execution.
• Provide detailed performance test result reports including bottleneck analysis, recommendations, and RCA summaries.
• Collaborate with Dev, DBA, Infra, and Business teams for timely resolution of issues impacting performance.
• Drive proof-of-concept (POC) exercises to validate tool compatibility within restricted network setups (e.g., DMZ, proxy settings).

Must-Have Skills:

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Performance Testing and Engineering.
• Strong expertise with Apache JMeter (mandatory); exposure to LoadRunner or other tools is a plus.
• Ability to analyze results using Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, or custom logs.
• Experience in preparing Performance Test Plans, designing test cases, and analyzing NFRs.
• Good knowledge of system internals – Web/App Server, DB (Oracle 19C), MQ, Load Balancer, Network considerations.
• Comfortable with Unix/Linux environments and scripting for test orchestration/log retrieval.
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid project environments.

Good-to-Have Skills:

• Prior experience in Banking or Financial Services domain.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integrating performance tests in DevOps flows.
• Knowledge of database monitoring tools (OEM, AWR, ADDM) and ability to read DB-level performance metrics.

• Open to short-term onsite assignments (1–3 months) based on project needs.
