Job Description
The Dental Hygienist or Assistant is essential in facilitating effective dental care by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials, as well as passing instruments and materials during procedures in accordance with the dental practice act. Responsibilities may also include mixing filling compounds, take impressions of teeth, and provide postoperative instructions within their scope of practice. Additionally, the Dental Hygienist or Assistant will handle initial triage of patients.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate walk-in patients to determine potential diagnosis, acuity, and urgency of treatment need.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' oral health, including examining teeth and gums, identifying any signs of oral disease.
- Preventative services (e, g. cleaning) are not included in this contract. While extractions of non-painful teeth or restorations of non-painful cavities are not considered urgent or emergency conditions, the dental provider may determine that the long-term benefit to health or quality of life warrants treatment.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting procedures performed, and observations made during appointments.
- Take dental X-rays and perform other diagnostic tests to assist in the diagnosis of oral health issues.
- Support dentists during procedures by preparing and sterilizing instruments, setting up treatment rooms, providing chairside assistance, and assisting with various tasks.
- May remove sutures; apply topical anaesthetics.
- Collaborate with other medical providers to coordinate dental care plans and ensure the delivery of comprehensive, patient-centred care.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Ensure patient comfort and provide compassionate care addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies through continuing education and professional development.
- Orders and maintains inventory of supplies at necessary par levels.
- Participate in mass-casualty drills twice a year and remain available for on-call coverage.
- Complete required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications
Experience Required:
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Dental Hygienist or
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Dental support staff should have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least six months out of the past year.
- Training will be provided for the right candidate.
Education Required:
- Current & unrestricted license or authorizing document from country of record and
- Completion of an accredited Dental Hygienist Program or equivalent in country of record or
- Completion of an approved Dental Assistant course in the country of record and
- Certification by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) or equivalent preferred.
- Current dental radiology license required based in licensing country.
- Must obtain provided American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) with employment.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
- On call requirements as part of a rotation if required.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.
- This position is unaccompanied.
- Ability to obtain a base security clearance.
- Must be able to relocate to Doha, Qatar.
- A valid passport from Country of Record is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
