Job Description
The Charge Nurse collaborates with administration, medical personnel, ancillary staff, and clinic teams to uphold and advance the project’s mission and vision while fostering an inclusive environment that values cultural sensitivity and awareness. As a vital member of the leadership team, they will oversee daily responsibilities related to patient care and administrative functions. The Charge Nurse will provide exemplary professional nursing leadership and execute essential nursing duties in a manner that respects and honors the diverse backgrounds of patients and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative
- Assists with the development, implementation and application of policies and procedures related to the delivery of safe and efficient nursing care.
- Helps monitor, audit, and evaluate quality of nursing service providing direct oversight of staff, conduct chart reviews, and execute quality audits. The subcontractor shall maintain a system for evaluating quality of care metrics, identifying and implementing areas for improvement, and ensuring staff competency.
- Assist the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports while running a feedback loop to ensure quality processes.
- Directs the activities of nursing personnel consistent with those in the performance work statement.
- Assist with patient administration including, but not limited to, medical recordkeeping; patient appointment scheduling, medical escort, coordination of interpreter and transportation; and ensuring the smooth flow of patients through the ESHC and any designated specialty care areas.
- Maintains open line of communication with the EMS Department.
- Serve as a resource and mentor for nursing staff, providing guidance and support in clinical practice and decision-making.
- Assist in coordinating mass casualty training
- Participate in mass-casualty drills twice a year and remain available for on-call coverage.
- Complete required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.
Personnel Management/Staffing
- Ensure effective patient administration, encompassing scheduling, walk-in services, patient registration, and tracking of all appointments at the designated location, as well as external appointments and hospitalizations.
- Identifies staffing needs and continuously monitors staffing levels and adjusts as appropriate to meet various clinical care and operational objectives.
- Ensures effective utilization of staff and departmental resources.
- Monitors overtime requirements in accordance with minimum and optimal staffing levels, and applicable surge requirements.
- Assists with orientation programs and refresher courses to train and update skills of the nursing service personnel.
- Coordinate/arrangement of transportation services for patients as needed.
- Assist with coordination of medical escorts for patient consultations and appointments (note that interpreters are provided under a separate contract).
- Assists with management of clinical areas within the isolation facility and medical overflow area for medically fragile individuals/families.
Leadership
- Creates an environment that fosters a positive working culture and innovative patient care.
- Provides clinical leadership and expertise; serves as technical support and as a resource.
- Ensures staff perform duties professionally to meet clinical standards and mission requirements
- Actively attends and participates in department head and other essential committees of the medical department.
- Assess and communicates departmental need for equipment and supplies.
- Participates and promotes continuous quality improvement and management programs implementing and communicating corrective action plans and interventions.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Requires current RN licensure and minimum of 3 years’ experience as a clinical nurse.
- Graduate of an approved accredited school of professional nursing or home country equivalent.
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel
- Obtain provided Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) certifications.
- Clinical specialty certifications and/or advanced education optimal.
Preferred
- Experience in nursing leadership with emphasis on team and scheduling management.
- Previous experience in a military hospital.
- Experience and/or working knowledge of medical command.
- Previous experience with mass casualty planning and execution.
- Experience with Occupational Health and medical surveillance programs.
- Demonstrated ability to effect good medical and nursing staff relations, working with qualified physicians and nurses.
- Ability to work effectively with all health care disciplines.
- Intensive care or emergency room setting experience.
Physical Demands
- Work is normally performed in a deployment interior/office work environment.
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.
- This position is unaccompanied.
- Ability to obtain a base security clearance.
- Must be able to relocate to Qatar.
- A valid passport from Country of Record is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay.

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data.
