Job Purpose:
To drive a cash van and sell FMCG products to retailers and other customers along a designated route. Responsible for achieving daily sales targets, collecting payments, delivering products, and maintaining customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive a cash van to assigned routes and visit retail customers daily.
- Promote and sell company products to existing and new customers.
- Load, unload, and display products according to company standards.
- Collect cash or cheque payments and ensure timely deposit as per company policy.
- Ensure accurate documentation of invoices, returns, and collections.
- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
- Monitor stock levels in the van and request replenishment when necessary.
- Maintain excellent relationships with customers to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Report market feedback, competitor activities, and customer complaints to the Sales Supervisor.
- Ensure the van is clean, well-maintained, and stocked at all times.
- Comply with all company policies and health & safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a sales representative, preferably in FMCG.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Good knowledge of the local market and retail customers.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Basic math skills and familiarity with using handheld invoicing devices or POS systems.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in direct distribution and van sales operations.
- Knowledge of inventory and route planning.
- Familiarity with FMCG products and consumer behaviour.
Working Conditions:
- Field-based role with extensive daily travel.
- Physically demanding – requires loading and unloading products.
- May involve long hours, especially during promotions or peak seasons.
