Role in the organization:
We're looking for an experienced Auto AC Electrician – Commercial Vehicles to join our team, someone with extensive knowledge of Commercial vehicle Electrical & AC repairs.
An auto electrician is a specialist who installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs the electrical and electronic systems of vehicles, i.e. Commercial Vehicles, Pickups, Trucks, Buses, and sometimes Equipment.
Our requirements:
Professional experience as an Auto AC Electrician
Knowledge of vehicle mechanics
Ability to diagnose AC and electrical faults
Practical experience in Commercial Vehicles & Heavy Truck Electrical repairs
Good work organization and ability to work independently
Knowledge of specialized workshop equipment operation
Ability to work in a team
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnosing and Repairing Electrical Issues: Identifying problems in vehicle electrical systems using diagnostic tools and technical diagrams, then repairing or replacing faulty wiring, components, or systems.
Tasks: Perform inspection and electrical repairs of commercial vehicles i.e. Ashok Leyland, IVECO & Mahindra.
Installing Electrical Components: Fitting new wiring, lighting systems, alarms, immobilizers, audio systems, and other electrical accessories.
Maintaining Electrical Systems: Servicing batteries, alternators, starters, and other electrical parts to ensure reliable operation.
Testing and Troubleshooting: Using digital diagnostic equipment to test circuits, fuses, relays, and other components for faults.
- Customer Interaction: Gathering information from customers about issues, explaining diagnoses and repair options, and providing time and cost estimates.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Completing job reports, processing paperwork, and maintaining records of work performed.
- Adhering to Safety and Quality Standards: Ensuring all work meets safety, regulatory, and manufacturer standards.
- Perform repairs to manufacturer and customer specifications
- Examines assigned vehicles to determine if further safety related to electrical work is required.
- Communicate with Service Advisor / Supervisor immediately if additional work is needed, if the work outlined is not needed, or if repairs can’t be completed within the promised time.
- Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Knowledge: Advanced understanding of modern vehicle electrical systems and electronics.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical problems and interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints.
- Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, voltmeters and Diagnostic Testers.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues.
- Physical Abilities: Capability to work in confined spaces, stand or crouch for long periods, and distinguish subtle color variations in wiring.
Education:
- Higher diploma (Preferred)
- ITI Qualification (Technician/Mechanic)
- Automotive / Mechanical Eng. Diploma
Experience:
- Auto Electrician [Commercial Vehicles / Trucks] in Dealership: 5 to 6 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Automotive Tech or Electrician Certificate (Preferred)
