Key Result Areas:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the business office, including contract negotiation, management of external relationships, acting as primary liaison for orchestra administrative activities on a national level, and developing and overseeing standard office operating procedures
- Work closely with the Executive Director and other designated staff on long-range planning and prepare budget projections
- Promote a culture of service excellence and set a people-oriented and collaborative working atmosphere of open communication so that the office is a pleasant and efficient workplace
- Manage the orchestra’s human resource requirements in order to maintain a sound organizational structure
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to identify, develop and implement operational business plans, establish and monitor key metrics, and facilitate departmental decision making
- Participate in departmental strategic planning and budgeting to ensure that planning contributes to the growth of the orchestra and that it aligns with the orchestra’s strategic objectives in a cost-effective manner; monitor expenditures to ensure adherence to budgets
- Identify opportunities for business process, fiscal, and operational improvements, and develop & implement improvements
- Establish and maintain effective controls for finance, human resources and administration
- Develop reports, including the Annual Orchestra Report, for use in tracking progress relative to strategic goals and in performing strategic planning
- Develop and maintain healthy relationships with private and governmental organizations to build financially and strategically advantageous collaborations
- Other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- 8-10 years of administrative leadership experience in a non-profit, private, or public section environment; experience at a world-class performing arts organization preferred
- Experience reporting to and working with an engaged board of directors; sterling ethical reputation
- Expert knowledge of administrative and organizational best practices within the fields of performing arts organizations and arts education
- Thorough understanding of the historical, current, and evolving business model and financial aspects of performing arts organizations and arts education institutions
- Ability to serve as a spokesperson for the orchestra; comfortable in the public eye and fluent in conversational Arabic & English
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills; the ability to relate to people of all ages, cultures, and socioeconomic groups; has a high level of energy and enthusiasm and a compelling presence
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; additional proficiency in written formal Arabic preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and Oracle ERP
