Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Swimming Coach to develop and train swimmers of various ages and skill levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of swimming techniques, training methods, and safety protocols, with a passion for helping athletes reach their full potential in a positive and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions for individuals and teams.
- Teach proper swimming techniques including strokes, breathing, starts, and turns.
- Develop training programs tailored to individual athletes and team goals.
- Monitor swimmer performance, offer constructive feedback, and implement strategies for improvement.
- Ensure the safety of all swimmers by enforcing pool rules and safety standards.
- Prepare athletes for swim meets and competitions, including warm-up routines and mental preparation.
- Maintain records of athlete performance, attendance, and progression.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive team environment.
- Communicate regularly with parents, athletes, and facility staff.
- Stay current with coaching techniques and competitive trends in swimming.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a swimming coach or competitive swimmer.
- Knowledge of swim techniques, rules, and safety procedures.
- Valid CPR/First Aid and Lifeguard certification (or willingness to obtain).
- USA Swimming Coach Certification (or equivalent, depending on country/region).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire athletes of all skill levels.
- Organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and meet days.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in physical education, sports science, or a related field.
- Previous experience coaching at the club, school, or collegiate level.
- Experience with team management software and video analysis tools.
