Job Summary:
Senior Planning Engineer provides engineering analysis and technical support for the planning and operation of the project. Implements appropriate system modeling, develops tools and procedures to monitor and control the system, analyzes simulated or actual operating results, develops solutions to current or future system issues, and appropriately reports findings and recommendations. Supports the business development, tender management activities. Also plan the project by implementing appropriate system modeling and developing tools and procedures for monitoring and control.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform all the planning/scheduling activities that are required to be conducted for the project, as guided by Project Manager.
- Prepare project master program and review/comment/approve the baseline schedule, prepared and submitted by the contractor, taking into consideration the identification of craft labor/equipment /material /cash requirements by time period.
- Assist in providing input and analyses from the planning perspective on market/protocol design issues.
- Structure appropriate planning studies and sensitivity analyses to determine the need for improvements and evaluate proposed projects, including technical and financial analyses.
- Claim analysis of delay to project objectives, evaluation & recommendation.
- Provide trainings or help oversee the work of other engineers/analysts.
- Act as mentor and adviser to less experienced engineers/analysts.
- Typically work independently on assignments and projects.
- Participate in multi-functional teams to obtain input, address comments and perform studies.
- Assist in developing tools, processes and procedures that enhance system reliability and departmental/organizational efficiency.
- Provide assistance to the Project Manager for reports on contractor delay in project deliverables and corrective action suggestions.
- Deal with various reports such as Daily, Weekly & Monthly reports.
- Produce visual aids to help explain the schedule of work, including bar charts and network diagrams
- Monitor the progress of the project at different stages of its development.
- Plan, schedule oversee and the entire program of work.
- Ability to select the most appropriate techniques and logical sequence of activities to complete project scope.
- Coordinate project design stages and supervise the construction process effectively.
- Reviewing contractor’s extension of time and send the GEC’s recommendation to PWA
- Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Quality department requirements and Audits.
- Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Business development & tenders management activities
- To ensure, Implement, Maintain quality, safety and environmental systems in compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards
- Provide the support and cooperation in regards to the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental department requirements and Audits.
- To Report and record the QHSE dept. non-conformities and in coordination with QHSE dept for closure.
- Identifying, evaluating, and controlling hazards and risks in the workplace, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and promoting a culture of quality, health, safety & environmental within the organization.
- Understanding, support and follow the waste management system
- Coordinate and contact the organization ERT team during in emergency case
- Record, report the incidents and near misses to the management and QHSE dept.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 12years of experience in planning and scheduling of projects.
- Strongly familiar with project management software such as Primavera application.
Required Skills:
- Broad knowledge of Engineering (planning, design, construction).
- Experience in all phases of major engineering and construction Projects with, a
- Working knowledge of regulatory developments, new technology and current trends.
- Detail oriented to conduct through analysis and evaluations, render and implement timely decisions and recommendations.
- Particular computer software skills that will be needed to considerably speed up the process of the projects and ensure they are completed on time.
