Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an exceptionally talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team!
In this role, you will manage and supervise mechanical systems—including HVAC, plumbing, and firefighting—across complex building projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, performance, and compliance of mechanical installations through all stages of construction and commissioning.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Reviewing and approving technical submittals, shop drawings, and method statements for mechanical systems.
Coordinating MEP interfaces and resolving multidisciplinary design and execution challenges.
Monitoring system testing, flushing, balancing, and factory acceptance testing activities.
Ensuring design compliance with project specifications, international codes, and local authority requirements.
Reviewing O&M documentation, test results, and supporting final project handover processes.
Coordinating with electrical and architectural teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical services.
Managing performance of specialist subcontractors and OEM suppliers on-site.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, public health, and fire protection systems in large-scale developments.
Proven experience in site supervision, MEP coordination, system inspections, and commissioning.
Familiarity with international codes and standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and relevant local regulations.
Skilled in reviewing layouts, equipment specifications, and verifying installation quality through witness testing.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in mechanical systems supervision, with at least 3 years in Qatar.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
Background in sustainability-focused designs and LEED-compliant mechanical systems.
Experience using BIM tools for MEP coordination and clash detection.
Knowledge of factory acceptance testing procedures and management of OEM and specialist contractors.
Ability to assess contractor’s testing documentation and support technical evaluations.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and collaborative with a strong focus on project delivery and system performance.
