Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer - Planning to join our dynamic team in Doha, Qatar. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing planning processes for major roads, infrastructure, and bridge projects in the region.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for complex infrastructure projects
- Conduct detailed cost and schedule variance analyses to ensure project efficiency and financial performance
- Implement and manage Earned Value Management (EVMS) systems to track project progress and performance
- Perform Time Impact Analysis to assess and mitigate potential schedule delays
- Analyze project financial data and identify potential impacts on project outcomes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project goals, timelines, and resources
- Develop and maintain project baselines using drawings and specifications
- Lead the collection and analysis of progress data, reviewing performance trends to support decision-making
- Oversee the tracking of purchase orders, subcontract commitments, and expenditures
- Spearhead the project reporting process and participate in high-level project cost review meetings
- Contribute to the development and improvement of planning processes and tools
- Ensure compliance with local construction regulations and standards in Qatar
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Minimum of 12+ years of experience in Planning / Project Controls field, with a focus on major transport programs
- Advanced knowledge of ORACLE Primavera P6 Project Management Software
- Expertise in Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Earned Value Management (EVMS), and cost/schedule variance analysis
- Proficiency in Time Impact Analysis techniques and project management methodologies
- Demonstrated experience in roads, infrastructure, and bridge projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- In-depth knowledge of local construction regulations and standards in Qatar
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing project requirements
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
