We are looking for a talented and experienced Façade Designer – Aluminum & Façade to join our forward-thinking team in Doha, Qatar. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to landmark architectural projects by developing high-performance façade solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, and structural performance. The ideal candidate will be a technically strong, creative thinker with deep knowledge of façade systems and international design standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of curtain walls, structural glazing, ACP cladding, skylights, spider systems, and complex façade envelopes.
- Translate architectural intent into engineered, buildable, and performance-driven façade solutions.
- Create and review shop drawings, fabrication drawings, material take-offs, and installation details.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, engineers, and internal teams to ensure designs meet aesthetic, structural, and code requirements.
- Perform structural calculations and system performance analyses (wind loads, deflection, thermal expansion, anchorage, etc.).
- Evaluate and approve technical submittals, façade materials, and system specifications.
- Provide technical support during execution, including site visits, design adjustments, and coordination with installation teams.
- Ensure all designs align with local and international codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Stay informed about emerging materials, façade technologies, and sustainable innovations.
- Mentor and guide junior designers and CAD technicians to foster team development and technical excellence.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 to 10+ years of experience in façade design, preferably within aluminum and glass systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with 3D modeling software such as Rhino, Revit, SolidWorks, or Inventor is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of façade mechanics, thermal and acoustic performance, fabrication techniques, and on-site installation processes.
- Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings with precision.
- Excellent collaboration, coordination, and communication skills within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with international façade codes, standards, and performance benchmarks.
