Job Purpose
The Boom Truck Operator will be responsible for safely operating boom trucks to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment within the project site at Ras Laffan. The role requires strict adherence to safety procedures and coordination with site supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operate boom trucks to transport, lift, and position heavy materials and equipment.
Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of the boom truck to ensure safe working condition.
Follow site safety rules, lifting plans, and supervisor instructions during operations.
Perform rigging activities in compliance with lifting standards and TUV-certified practices.
Report any equipment malfunction or safety hazard to the supervisor immediately.
Ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and safe parking of the boom truck after use.
Coordinate with riggers, lifting supervisors, and site engineers for safe lifting operations.
Comply with client and company HSE policies and procedures.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Boom Truck Operator in construction or oil & gas projects.
Valid TUV Third-Party Boom Truck Operator Certificate (mandatory).
Knowledge of rigging and safe lifting practices.
Ability to read and follow instructions in English (basic communication skills required).
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of safety procedures in lifting and rigging operations.
Attention to detail and alertness during crane/boom operations.
Ability to work in a team under high-pressure site conditions.
Physically fit and medically cleared for site duties.
