Telecommunications Network Engineer

ECCO Gulf Majorel Qatar is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Network Engineer to join dynamic team in Qatar. As a key member of our engineering and technical department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our telecommunications network infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of our network services, supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional IT solutions.

• Design and develop infrastructure for communication networks, including fiber optics, cables, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain high availability and quality of service.
• Resolving Engineering issues related to infrastructure.
• Prepare a comprehensive report on Infrastructure and access inspection, supervision, and implementation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and improve existing systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies and engineering assessments for infrastructure projects and analyze risks.
• Follow up and coordinate with contractor, consultants and relevant government entities to ensure the implementation of projects according to approved standards, compliance with laws, regulations, and guidelines while monitoring any problems that arise during the execution of these projects, and conducting inspection visits as required.
• Review Designs in QDRS system and provide feedback to Ashghal based on Organization’s regulation.
• Provide a benchmark study based upon request task related to Infrastructure sharing and development.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
• Review applications on Coordination Services System and release them.
• Provide access approval to Service Providers in Duct Management System
• Document network configurations, changes, and updates for future reference and compliance.
• Performing all tasks and duties as needed or assigned by the line Manager or Head of Department.

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in telecommunications and network engineering. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in network design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Proven experience in civil telecommunications infrastructure, including trenching, ducting, and pit installation.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching technologies.
• Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in planning and supervising the installation of fibre optic cables in underground and aerial environments.
• Knowledge of utility surveying, permit acquisition, and coordination with local authorities for civil works.
• Competency in reading and interpreting civil and network design drawings and site documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills (including report writing) in English and Arabic.
