Requirements
Role Purpose:To lead and manage onshore decommissioning engineering activities for the Client’s assets, ensuring safe, environmentally compliant, and cost-effective retirement of infrastructure in line with regulatory and corporate standards. The role demands technical expertise, project coordination, contractor management, and risk mitigation skills to support decommissioning planning and execution phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the execution of onshore decommissioning engineering plans and strategies.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and environmental impact analyses.
- Prepare scope of work, engineering specifications, and tender packages for decommissioning activities.
- Interface with Client’s internal stakeholders, government regulators, and third-party contractors.
- Coordinate engineering deliverables, including decommissioning drawings, method statements, and dismantling procedures.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, Client guidelines, and international best practices.
- Supervise field decommissioning work and support site teams in resolving technical challenges.
- Manage cost, schedule, and quality aspects of the decommissioning scope.
- Contribute to lessons learned, asset retirement obligation (ARO) assessments, and project close-out documentation.
- Support permitting, waste management, and remediation requirements in coordination with environmental teams.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering (or related discipline).
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ experience in oil & gas engineering, with at least 5 years in onshore decommissioning or brownfield projects.
- Demonstrated experience in engineering design, dismantling methodologies, demolition planning, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong understanding of Client standards and Qatari regulatory frameworks (preferred).
- Familiar with international decommissioning codes (e.g., API, ISO, IOGP).
- Proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and third-party contractors.
- Excellent communication, report writing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in engineering tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Navisworks, Primavera, MS Project).
