Job Summary
Supporting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations. Includes supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and consistency, managing inventory, maintaining cleanliness, and upholding health and safety standards. Leads by example and ensures smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation and culinary activities.
- Oversee kitchen staff, ensuring consistent performance, discipline, and morale.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, presentation, and taste.
- Supervise and train junior chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering ingredients and supplies as needed.
- Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and rotation following HACCP guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas.
- Enforce hygiene and safety standards in compliance with local regulations.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development, specials, and seasonal offerings.
- Step in and manage the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Performs other duties assigned.
Requirements:
1. Culinary degree or professional training from a recognized institution preferred.
2. At least 5 year work experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume or fine dining kitchen.
3. Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff.
4. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
5. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing demands.
6. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
7. With Valid QID, NOC and Food Handling Certificate.
8. Must be available in Qatar.
