Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Engineer - Electrical to join our dynamic team in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of complex electrical systems for large-scale commercial and industrial projects, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
- Develop and implement innovative electrical design solutions for complex projects, focusing on energy efficiency and sustainability
- Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of large-scale electrical engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results
- Perform detailed electrical system designs, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems
- Conduct load calculations and system analyses using advanced software tools
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate electrical systems with overall project designs
- Ensure compliance with local Qatari electrical codes, as well as international standards and regulations
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to team members
- Perform site visits to assess existing conditions and gather necessary information for project planning
- Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering
- Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and drawings
Qualifications
- Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design for commercial or industrial projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Proficiency in load calculation software such as AMTECH and ETAP
- Skilled in using lighting calculation software (e.g., AGi32, DIALux)
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD, with working knowledge of Navisworks
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and 3D modeling software
- Thorough understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC), International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards, and Qatari electrical regulations
- Extensive knowledge of power distribution systems, lighting design, and control systems
- Familiarity with energy-efficient design practices and sustainable building standards
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in managing large-scale electrical engineering projects
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Willingness to adapt to new technologies and industry advancements
