We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear components. This role involves designing enclosures, frames, busbar supports, and ventilation systems, ensuring mechanical integrity, functionality, and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components for MV switchgear, including:
- Sheet metal enclosures
- Structural frames
- Busbar support systems
- Ventilation and cooling systems
- Create detailed 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and assembly instructions to guide manufacturing and assembly teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical design, production, and quality, to ensure designs meet all technical and safety standards.
- Conduct design reviews and implement modifications based on testing and feedback.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IEC) and internal engineering guidelines.
- Support the prototyping and testing of mechanical designs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design for MV switchgear or similar electrical equipment.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal design, fabrication processes, and material selection.
- Familiarity with thermal management, structural analysis, and design for manufacturability.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with electrical design teams.
- Knowledge of standards for MV equipment .
- Hands-on experience in prototyping and testing.
