Key Result Areas:
- Provide leadership, vision, and strategy for the department by developing Informatics Healthcare Ecosystem to support the optimization of internal operations and processes.
- Advise Aspetar team to manage the business and clinical software applications of the Hospital, including design, development, sourcing, and implementation of the applications that are progressive and in line with the Hospital’s information needs.
- Ensure timely and accurate generation and execution of all reporting to management on project status, costs, benefit, risks, and issues.
- Provide technical expertise and render professional advice to hardware/ software vendors and users on matters relating to the development and operations of IT systems.
- Develop contracts for services which are in-house or outsourced to vendors, against services outcome, financial and performance targets.
- Reviews health informatics trends, experiences, and approaches, and develops technical and application implementation strategies. Assists in the development of strategic and tactical plans for clinical information systems.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, review and update of Hospital and departmental policies and procedures as part of each project and at other times, as required.
- Lead planning, development, and evaluation of services for the staff and stakeholders.
- Oversee and validate clinical workflow and processes related to clinical systems and advise how the EMR design and adoption can be optimized to increase efficacy and efficiency.
- Review the technical design of the clinical systems and ensure meeting standards, best practices.
- Promotes systems interoperability and integration.
- Oversee Clinical Transformation of Patient informatics, Patient Management systems, Order Management, Electronic Documentation, Clinical Decision Support Systems, Unified Telecommunication, and interoperability systems.
- Support the Quality, Patient Experience and Health Informatics in identifying and promoting research, development through data-driven measures and process improvement of health informatics.
- Fosters innovative solutions and supports creative problem solving in the field of informatics.
Experience and Education:
Demonstrated 10 to 12 years of experience working in the same field with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in health informatics with a background in information technology, healthcare administration, or clinical field is a must. CPHIMS (Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems) will be a definitive advantage.
Skills:
Proficiency in health information systems , data analysis, database management, and health information technology protocols are crucial. The ability to analyze healthcare data, identify trends, and develop strategies to improve care quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness is essential. A solid understanding of healthcare operations, workflows, clinical care delivery, and regulations (like HIPAA) is necessary. Teamwork, collaboration, and conflict resolution are important for success in this field.
