Job responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections.
- Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance according to service schedules.
- Troubleshoot problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Repair and replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with specifications.
- Coordinate with drivers, operators, and supervisors to report and resolve issues quickly.
Requirements:
- Technical Diploma or Certification in Diesel Mechanics or Automotive Technology.
- Proven experience (minimum 2–5 years) working with diesel engines, preferably in heavy vehicles or industrial equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engine systems and components.
- Familiarity with diagnostic software and mechanical tools.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to handle heavy lifting and extended periods of standing or working in challenging conditions.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call as needed
