Job Summary:
The Carpentry Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating carpentry teams on construction projects. This role involves ensuring that all carpentry work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The Carpentry Foreman acts as the link between the workforce and site/project management.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Leadership:
- Lead a team of carpenters, apprentices, and laborers.
- Delegate tasks and manage daily work schedules.
- Provide hands-on guidance and support as needed.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks and team briefings.
Project Execution:
- Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- The candidate must be well-versed in the production of MDF, core-based, wooden doors.
- The candidate must possess strong manufacturing skills in wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, Fit out, and customized furniture.
- Plan, organize, and supervise carpentry activities on construction sites.
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards.
- Identify and address any defects or issues promptly.
- Ensure all carpentry tasks, such as framing, trimming, installation, and finishing, are executed to the highest standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain an accurate record of materials used.
- Optimize the use of resources to minimize waste and reduce costs.
- Ensure accurate and efficient execution of framing, formwork, roofing, partitions, doors, and finish carpentry.
- Oversee construction of temporary structures like scaffolding and formwork (if applicable).
- Coordinate with other trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) to avoid conflicts and delays.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all carpentry work meets design specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect finished work and correct any deficiencies.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
Health & Safety:
- Enforce compliance with site safety regulations and company policies.
- Identify and mitigate hazards.
- Report and document accidents or incidents.
Materials & Tools Management:
- Monitor and manage use of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Order supplies in advance to avoid project delays.
- Ensure proper care, storage, and maintenance of tools.
Reporting & Coordination:
- Communicate progress, issues, and resource needs to site or project managers.
- Keep daily records of labor, materials used, and work completed.
- Assist in planning schedules and coordinating with subcontractors.
