Job Summary:

The Bakery Head Chef is responsible for leading the bakery team in creating high-quality baked goods, including breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts. The role involves overseeing production processes, maintaining food quality and hygiene standards, developing new recipes, and ensuring timely delivery for retail, catering, or restaurant service. The Bakery Head Chef must combine creativity with excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise daily bakery operations, including production schedules, staff coordination, and quality control.
Plan and execute a variety of baked goods, including artisan breads, cakes, pastries, and specialty desserts.
Develop new recipes and seasonal menus in line with customer preferences and current trends.
Ensure all baked products meet the company’s standards for quality, taste, and presentation.
Maintain inventory levels and manage procurement of bakery ingredients and supplies.
Implement and monitor food safety and hygiene practices in accordance with HACCP standards.
Train, motivate, and evaluate the performance of bakery staff.
Collaborate with the Executive Chef and F&B team for special events, catering, and new product launches.
Control food costs and minimize waste through efficient production and stock management.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of all bakery equipment.

Qualifications & Experience:

Proven experience as a Head Baker or Bakery Chef, preferably in a high-volume or artisan bakery setting.
Culinary degree or bakery/pastry certification is a plus.
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dough fermentation, pastry production, and dessert decoration.
Creative and innovative with a passion for high-quality baked goods.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP practices.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
