Job Title Service Technician – Generator Mechanical & Electrical

Job Purpose

To ensure the maximum availability of equipment at all times, that all equipment is maintained and serviced in line with Primepower policy and procedure, and provide a first class service to all customers, whether in the Depot or at a customers’ site.

Accountabilities

 Assist senior service technician in equipment installation, maintenance and repairs

 Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks

 Troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment malfunctions Duties and Responsibilities

 Comply with Primepower servicing schedules and procedures

 Ensure all equipment is prepared for hire in compliance with Primepower ‘Green Card’ procedure

 Ensure all work performed reports are approved by client (on site) and are legibly produced

 Ensure immediate response and minimal disruption to client’s requirements  Ensure good housekeeping of work area and service vehicle

 Maintain a minimum spares level in service vehicle as per procedures

 Effective troubleshooting to minimise downtime and unnecessary repair costs

 Customer satisfaction externally & internally  Compliance to QHSE & ISO Standards and Procedures

 Compliance with 24 hour call – out policy

 Any other duties considered essential for effective operations and service.

 Ideally have a recognized qualification in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering

 Must be able to work to written procedures and comply with company policies

Specialized Training/ Knowledge Required

 Ability to read electrical drawings

 Possession of driving license essential

 Capable of basic administration and working to written procedure

Education & Qualifications

 College Degree in a Mechanical or Electrical field or Industrial Training Institute qualifications

 Grade 10 or 12 clarification

 Previous Experience with Cummins/Iveco/Scania Diesel Generator engines

 Must hold an official Mechanical and Electrical trade qualification from a recognized organization

 Proficiency with generator controllers including PCC 2100, PCC 3100, PCC 3200, PCC 3300 and DSE 8000 series, with training certificates from courses attended in programming

 Demonstrated track record in rebuilding Cummins engines, including KTA50, KTA38, KSQ23, QSX15, QSG12, NTA855, QSL9, 6BTA, and 4BT

 Accredited high voltage qualification from a recognized organization

 Completion of high voltage switching courses  Familiarity with the generator load testing process

Experience

 Minimum 3 years of experience relevant role or related field

 Dealer experience (Cummins and Caterpillar)

 Previous experience in the rental industry

 Prior experience working with diesel generator power plants

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR7,000.00 - QAR8,000.00 per month
