Job Brief:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Installation: Install electrical systems, wiring, outlets, lighting fixtures, and circuit breakers in new and existing buildings.
- Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure electrical systems are functioning properly and safely.
- Repairs: Diagnose and repair electrical issues, including faulty wiring, malfunctioning electrical equipment, and power outages.
- Blueprints and Schematics: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics to determine wiring layouts.
- Compliance: Ensure all electrical installations and repairs comply with local building codes and safety standards.
- Upgrades: Recommend and implement upgrades to improve electrical system efficiency and safety.
- Testing: Use testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to troubleshoot and test electrical systems.
- Emergency Services: Respond to emergency service calls and perform repairs outside of regular working hours as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Collaboration: Work with contractors, architects, and other tradespeople to coordinate electrical work with other construction activities.
Job Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as an Electrician with a strong understanding of electrical systems and components.
- Licensing: Valid electrician’s license or certification; additional certifications for specialized electrical work are a plus.
- Skills: Proficient in using electrical tools and testing equipment; strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment, standing for extended periods, and working in confined spaces.
- CAFM Experience: Experience with Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems is required.
- Safety: Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is a plus.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program is preferred.
- Communication: Good communication skills to interact effectively with customers, team members, and other tradespeople.
